The Bluetrek SurfaceSound retails from MobileFun for just £18.95 which I think is a great price to pay for such a excellent product (also for less than 20 quid you may save yourself a fine, points or even a serious accident)

I’ve been using the Bluetrek SurfaceSound for just about 2 weeks now and honestly I wouldn’t change it for the world. Its easy to use, easy to pair and just works.

The Bluetrek SurfaceSound works with any Bluetooth enabled phone and even with Apples Bluetooth crippling it worked magically with my iPhone 4.

The device is only 6mm thick so when attached to your sun visor by the  supplied clip you it will not get in the way. A great feature about this Bluetooth speaker is the way that it turns on, all that you need to do is pull down the mic arm and there you go the device is on and working.

Voice dialling and last number dialling are easy on the Bluetrek SurfaceSound, to initiate Voice dialling you just press the call button and away you go, for last number dialling just press and hold the call button.

The Bluetrek SurfaceSound gives you 24 hours worth of talk time and up to 30 days stand time.

The 2 watt speaker in the Bluetrek SurfaceSound provides great sound and even with my music up loud I was still able to hear people on the other end of the phone loud and clear. So what about people hearing me, well the SurfaceSound has 2 mics built into it. These pic up sound really well, in fact most people I spoke to didn’t even know that I was using the Bluetrek SurfaceSound when calling them.

So my final thoughts on the Bluetrek SurfaceSound Compact Bluetooth Car Kit  are that for £18.95 this is a excellent car kit and I see no reason why people would spend a lot more than that on a device that does the same.

On the packaging is the name Design Car Cradle. The holder comes with a charging cable (made by Belkin) and has a suction cup that you stick with a mechanical clamp to the windshield. This is a solution other than the one that TomTom Car Kit is using. Here are some pics for you to see that we have already made.

Customers who already pre-orderd the kit have now received an email telling them that their order will be canceled. The email stresses that the software is not included in the price. If customers do not respond, the order will be canceled. What do you do? The 99.95 price is not realistic, considering that a car owner often pays less than 30 euros in stores.

TomTom has revealed the official pricing of the TomTom car kit for iPhone after an accidental Apple Store listing provided incorrect information.

TomTom unveils the price of the TomTom car kit for the iPhone

London, 24 September 2009 – TomTom announces today that the TomTom car kit for the iPhone will have a recommended retail price of £99.99

The TomTom car kit will be available this October and will be sold separately from the TomTom app. It will be compatible with the iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS.

TomTom recently posted a new video demonstrating the features of its upcoming car kit for the iPhone.

The kit works in conjunction with the TomTom navigation app for the iPhone. It offers secure docking, enhanced GPS performance, clear voice instructions and hands-free calling, while charging your iPhone at the same time.

Here are some specifications for the up-coming Tom Tom car kit;

1. Easyport for connection to windshield.
2. Speaker for navigation voice
3. Volume control
4. Microphone
5. USB connection for cigarette lighter
6. Audio termination for connection with car radio

The kit is also said to boost the current GPS signal present in the iPhone 3G and 3G[S].

The price is said to be around €40, but this has not been confirmed as yet. We also expect Tom Tom to offer a discount price for buying the car kit along with the app together, but this is just speculation.
