[Breaking] New iPods delayed by production problems?

Article by on Tuesday, 8 September 2009

iphoneoscameraiconRumours have surfaced from many sources that Apple is running up against problems in the production of the new iPod Models. It is now no secret that the new iPod range will be equipped with a camera, but a highly reliable source says that Apple are facing technical problems with the camera modules.

Although the new Apple iPod line will almost certainly launch tomorrow the question is whether the iPods themselves will hit the shelves this month.

According to AppleInsider:

A person with a strong track record in predicting Apple’s upcoming product launches recently told AppleInsider that the iPod maker has experienced technical problems (bad parts) with the cameras modules. The person said that it was uncertain whether the new hardware, which has been widely expected to debut at Wednesday’s “Only rock and roll” media-centric event, would make the cut for early September retail distribution.

Hardmac also has a source that has revealed similar issues with the camera modules:

According to one of our reliable source (however, it remains a rumor), Apple is facing problems with the production of the new iPod Touch. The issue would be linked to the new camera module.

As with all rumours, take this with a pinch of salt if you must, but by this time tomorrow we will all know the truth.
