YourTube 2!

An update to the well known Cydia app Yourtube landed today and guess its name… (without looking at the title of this blog post) yep your right its called YourTube 2.

YourTube 2, like Yourtube, offers users the ability to download YouTube videos straight on your device.

YourTube 2 offers some new features such as being able to save your downloaded videos straight to your iPod app.

The package is created by the dev group CocoaNuts and is available from the ModMyi repo for a price of $5.00 if you never owned the original YourTube tweak. However the tweak is free if you bought YourTube after July 1st and just $1 upgrade if you bought it before July 1st.

By tapping on the small blue arrow next to the video in the Youtube app it then takes you to video description page, in this page you will see from the picture above that there is a new option “Download Video”

Once “Download Video” has been tapped you will then get the option on what quality you would like to download the video, the options being 720p, High Quality and Low Quality.

Once you have selected the quality your video will start to download and you will be taken to the new page in the YouTube app called downlaods.

Once your video has finished downloading you can then click on the little blue arrow and another pop up will appear asking you if you would like to add the video to the iPod app.

To me if you watch a lot of YouTube videos and you like to watch your favourite ones at any point then this is the ultimate app for you, but if you are not that fussed about YouTube than you might as well skip straight passed this in Cydia. The $5.00 price tag seems a little pricey to me but then again like I said if your a YouTube fan then you’ll probably find this a reasonable price.
