[Theme] Epic Pro by Paplip

Article by on Wednesday, 3 March 2010

Once again our resident theme developer Paplip has been hard at work with a new theme named ‘Epic Pro’

Epic Pro is a full theme that includes icons, wallpapers, loading screens, and lots more.

Now as we all now Paplip is a hard working theme developer, but this theme puts his others to shame. I have had the pleasure of using this for a couple of days now and believe me its a theme that I love.

So why should you take my word for it? Well I’m one of these people that when I install a theme I need to have everything, mainly all the icons to be themed, if that doesn’t happen then I go back to stock.

Well this theme has made me keep it for the last few days.

So that’s enough about my little addiction to having icons all the same, now lets talk about this theme.

So let me tell you a little about the icons. As you can see from the pic the icons come with a thin silver edge to them that narrow down towards the bottom. There is no mistaking which icons are for what app which I think makes a great theme.

One more thing about the icons is that all app store apps will be themed as they are downloaded from the store as Paplip has created an icon mask. Excellent work Paplip.

So we move on to the other parts of the theme, Paplip has created this nice little loading screen that shows for as long as it takes for your app to load. One thing I love about this screen is that it isn’t too busy, just plain and simple. To go along with the loading screen, Paplip has also created a little loading cue that takes place of the spinning wheel.

As I said previously Paplip put his all into this theme and this can be seen from the little touches like the switches that are used by apps like settings.

Other parts of this theme that have been themed are the Messages app, iPod app, and well everything. Every little bit of attention to detail is there.

There are a few things that need to be said though, and the first is when you apply this theme remember to use the iWipe Cache app from cydia to theme the rest of your app store icons.

Other things that I hope Paplip will work on to make this great theme even better is to add a few more details like a silver boarder to buttons and to work on the search bar in Safari.

I have been promised by Paplip that he will be updating this theme, so hopefully we will see some of these tweaks then, along with some more Cydia icons that need to be themed.

Epic Pro is available from the ModMyi repo as it is a paid theme and will cost $2.

If you would like more icons added to this theme hit Paplip up on twitter @Paplip and I’m sure he would be more than happy to help.

Below is Hoodstah’s YouTube review of this great theme. Well done Paplip, 5 Stars from me.
