Rock on with Rock Band
iPhone users are no strangers to music game apps ever since jailbreaking was made available to us in the form of Tap Tap. But then 2.0 firmware hit us and Tap Tap went legal and was one of the top iPhone games for months, but now there is a new boy in town in the form of EA’s Rock Band.
Gamers have been playing Rock Band on other consoles but EA have not forgot about the new gaming platform that is Apple iPod Touch / iPhone.
Rock Band is available from the iTunes Store at a price of £5.99 and brings hours of either solo or multi-player action. Since Apple opened up their bluetooth profile with the introduction of 3.0, many apps have taken advantage of this. Rock Band uses this new openness to allow gamers to jam together using the normal instruments that Rock Band gives us (Guitar, Base, Singer, Drums).
Rock Band hits us with 20 tracks from various artist such as Jethro Tull, Smashing Pumpkins, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Beastie Boys.
