iBlueNova Released
Yesterday saw the release of one of the most awaited cydia apps for 3.0, and that app is iBlueNova.
iBlueNova unlocks Apples once very limited bluetooth to now allow sending and receiving stuff via bluetooth.
iBlueNova is available in cydia with a 15 day trial and then costs $5.99. The trial version does not block anything out at all which is really cool.
iBlueNova allows users to send music (from iPod library), pics, vids and other files, as well as also receive them.
When opening the app, firstly you are greeted with a splash screen, then a screen with 2 switches. The first that will enable your bluetooth and then the second to allow your phone to be discovered by others.
When sending a file via iBlueNova you are greeted with a screen that then allows you to select your file and then discover other devices. From there you are shown a screen that displays the rate and percentage of your transfer.
When sending a music file you are given 4 options on how to find the song you wish to send. These are:
- Songs
- Artists
- Albums
- Ringtones
The app also has its own settings section which allows you to change the name of your device and set a pin to allow authorization. In the settings you can also set it to save incoming photo’s as JPG and not PNG files.
The other option in the settings section is to allow your various files to be saved in different locations.
All in all this is a great little tweak and adds a huge value to the iPhone. In my opinion this app adds a missing piece to the iPhone that should of been there from the start.
There is one thing though that would be nice and I hope it makes it into an update and that is to allow music that has been sent to your iPhone to be added to your iPod library for playback.
