Call Lock in Cydia

Today we saw a tweak in Cydia called CallLock and my thoughts on it are mixed.

First of all let me tell you a little about the tweak. CallLock is a tweak that when you connect to a call either incoming or outgoing your phone locks like you are on the the lockscreen.

CallLock is available from the BigBoss repo for a price of $0.99, now I know that is not expensive but I seriously don’t think its worth that.

The reasons that I don’t think that its worth $0.99 or even any price is that it doesn’t to me serve a purpose. I mean the iPhone is designed so that the screen goes blank when you hold your phone to your ear thanks to the proximity sensor so why would you what to have a lock screen like function when your taking a call.

Yes I understand that people do have faulty sensors but Apple was meant to have sorted that with iOS 4.1.

Anyhow lets get back to what the tweak does and looks like.

Firstly there is no icon on your springboard for this tweak the settings for it are in the settings app of your devices. There are 2 options in the settings a Manual and Automatic.

Manual allows you to send the call to the lockscreen by pressing the sleep button while automatic automatically sends the call to the lockscreen when the call is connected.

So there you go, I’m only going to rate this tweak 2/5 stars because I really don’t think its that useful unless you have a faulty proximity sensor, and if you did have a sensor problem I would recommend that you hit up Apple for a replacement rather than install this.
