Mobile Substrate Fixed for iOS 4.3

Article by on Tuesday, 15 March 2011

With the iOS 4.3 Jailbreak getting closer (comex jailbroke the iPad 2) the question that has been on many peoples minds is that when will Mobile Substrate be fixed.

For those of you that don’t know Mobile Substrate is the system that is used to protect the iPhone when tweaks and likewise fail. Mobile SubStrate is what sends the iPhone into Safe Mode.

With the release of iOS 4.3, Mobile Substrate was broken, this is because 4.3 contained ASLR. With Mobile Substrate not working many of the favourite Cydia apps and tweaks did not work, and with these not working is there much point of Jailbreaking?

Well luckily a patch has been released for Mobile Substrate which can be downloaded here and installed with iFile.

Now I have not tried this yet due to both my iPad and iPhone 4 running 4.2.1, but there are many sites reporting that this is working so all seems good.

If you have already jumped on iOS 4.3 and Jailbroken and have installed this patch then let us know how you got on in the comments below.
