Apple Retail Store 2.0

Article by on Sunday, 22 May 2011

Its the 10th Anniversary of the Apple Retail Store so to mark the occasion Apple held meeting in all there Apple retail stores and had all their staff there. Why you may ask, well unless you have not had your eyes open for the last few weeks Apple was set to relaunch their store today, and they did just that.

Apple stores in the UK did not open to around 12 o’clock today and when they did there was one massive change. Apple did away with all there Paper display units replacing them with iPad 2 Units.

Every product in the stores has an iPad 2 next to them. These iPad 2s had a custom install that displayed info on the product it was set next to. Yes even the iPad 2′s had iPad 2s next to them telling them telling the customer about the iPad 2 (is that to many iPad 2′s?)

The new iPad information display units did not just have product information on them however, they had the ability to call over a Apple employee so that they could then deal with your query – Nice touch Apple.

This is not the end of Apple seems to be doing with the Retail Store 2.0, Jack Dorsey the CEO of  Square, the Card payment system for iOS devices today announced  that they have some exciting news on Monday. He also posted this pic on Twitter.

Could this mean that Square have hit a deal with Apple to become Apple’s point of sale card device reader, who knows till tomorrow.

As soon as we know more about Apple Retail 2.0 we’ll let you know.
