Welcome back, video wallpapers. You’ve been missed.
Let me tell you how much fun this is to write about – an old – but VERY desired – feature from iOS 3.xx has been updated to function on iOS4, including the iPhone 4: The ability to have video wallpapers. This, in my opinion, was one of the coolest features of jailbreaking in regards to theming. Some of these video wallpapers enhanced a theme so much that it seemed naked without them, and now that problem is over. We can now have videos running as our background in Springboard, and here is how:
1) Open Cydia.
2) Go to the “Manage” tab.
3) Tap on “Sources”.
4) Tap on “Edit” in the upper right hand corner.
5) Tap on “Add” in the upper left hand corner.
6) Type in “http://i.danstaface.net/deb/
7) Tap “add source”, and let Cydia do its thing.
Now go into the source, and download the file called “vWallpaper”, and make sure it says that it is the version marked “(iOS4 only)”.
9) Install it.
10) Tap on the icon it created on your Springboard, and you’ll see this splash screen:
11) Tap on “Video Wallpaper”;
12) Tap on “Enable Video” toggle to turn it on.
13) Tap on “Select video to play”, and choose your video!
