Ping Update

Article by on Wednesday, 14 October 2009

pingLast week we wrote about one of our favourite apps that all of us Nazaroth.co.uk guys use called Ping! An iPhone to iPhone messager client like the one for the BlackBerry. Well Ping has been updated to iron out some of the bugs.

So here is what Ping have done to their app:

NEW FEATURE – unregistering Ping! ID
Fixed landscape keyboard
Fixed occasional duplicate messages
Fixed notification settings icon
In-app invitation email
Added localization for German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian

I have to say that this is a great improvement for such an excellent app and us guys here will keep using it and recommending it.

The only problem since the update that I am still experiencing is that the app does not always open first time.

Have a look at the Ping! Facebook page here.

Update…..

After looking at their Facebook page it seems that we should be looking out for another update to Ping! They have submitted version 1.2 to Apple yesterday (13th Oct), This is what the changelog states:

- NEW FEATURE: ability to send photos
- Added confirmation before clear
- Fixed contact bug where you cannot type in a new name if part of the name is already in the autocomplete list
- Fixed incorrect timezones for some users
- Fixed input textbox jumping when typing
- Improved stability by reducing crashes

I myself cant wait to be able to send pics. Come on Apple let us have Ping! 1.2 already.
