Multitasking CAN Be Activated On Other Devices

So more great news for those disgruntled owners of older iDevices. It has been discovered that the new multitasking feature in OS 4.0 CAN be used on older devices.

Although we understand why Apple has chosen to limit this feature to the 2 devices with the improved processor (iPhone 3Gs/iPod Touch 3), a lot of users were left feeling somewhat left out in the cold by the announcement yesterday.

All is not lost though, a guy by the name of cdevwill posted the tweet below briefly explaining the simple mod needed to activate multitasking on older devices;

Now we imagine this will work, but will it put huge strain on the slower processors? Will it cause an increase in crashes? We simply don’t know yet, but it must give hope to those still reeling from Apples decision.
