LTE iPhone being tested? UPDATED!
There are a number of rumors and findings to suggest than an LTE iPhone is coming soon.
The biggest clue to this is that there has been a job posting for a field tester (wonder if I can apply? … No they require acronyms on your CV) at Apple with or for LTE/UMTS. This was actually found on LinkedIn, which makes me a little wary on whether it is true;

It’s quite interesting to see such an open job opertunity at Apple floating around on the internet like this. I wonder if they found anyone.
Recently, there was also reports on Engadget than an Apple Store in the US has received an LTE signal router to fit in their store to test an LTE verison of the iPhone. Again, whether or not this is actually LTE hardware or not is unclear.
Considering how late these findings are and how late the job posting is, I very highly doubt we will see an LTE iPhone this year. We are looking at next year. Unless they rush testing. And lets be honest, the rate Apple are fixing bugs on iOS5 (Apart from the one stupid bug that I keep reporting) then anything is possible. There are very intelligent people working there.
UPDATE:
More evidence has come forth showing a section of a .plist file within iOS5 beta which mentions LTE.

And back on the news of LTE equipment being installed in Apple stores, 9to5mac says:
“According to a source within Apple’s retail operations, Apple and Verizon installed Verizon 3G antennas in select Apple Stores around six months prior to the launch of the Verizon iPhone 4. Today we are in late August, around six months prior to the “early 2012″ launch of the iPad 3.”
