Android vs iOS Annoyance!!

There has been something bothering me for a while now and thats the Android / iOS outselling wars discussion.

This post may seem biased as yes it is being written on an iPhone web page but I’m sure that you will all understand where I am coming from.

Over the last year iOS and Android have become the 2 largest players in the Mobile OS game, but one thing that I keep hearing is how Android is out selling iOS.

This is not a post about how I think that is wrong and because I’m an Apple Fanboy (yes I admit it) I think that could never be true, but more about trying to but that statement into the correct context.

Android will always sell more devices than iOS and that is simple but thats due to Android being on as many smartphones as I have had hot dinners.

I did a quick search on Carphone Warehouse for Android devices and found that they had 23 Android devices on sale while searching the same site (Carphone Warehouse) for iOS, I found 3. Thats nearly 8 times the amount of Android devices to iOS devices.

Let me put it another way for you. Its like comparing Windows OS to Mac OS, Windows will outsell because of the volume of computers its is on compared to Mac OS, or how about this way to explain it, its like saying Ford out sell Bugatti in car sales, it will always happen due to the cost of the Bugatti compared to the Ford.

I’m not angry that Android out sell iOS, I’m angry that to compare the sales volumes its not a fair contest. It would be fairer to say lets compare the Nexus One sales to the iPhone 4 for instance.

Any how thats just my opinion and really just me having a rant, its in no way the views of MyGreatiPhone as a site.
