Article by on Friday, 19 August 2011

A consumer rights organisation in China have filled claims against Apple it is being reported.

The organisation has filled these claims due them receiving reports from customers that Apple Store have been selling refurbished iPhone 4′s as new units.

This was identified after users purchased their devices believing they were new, but when registering their devices their warrantees per reduced from 12 months to either 9 or 6.

Below are pictures of a receipt for a new iPhone 4 and the corresponding Apple registration screen showing the reduced warrenty.

Reports also continue that once challenged by a customer one Apple employee “tried to trick her” by extending the refurbished units warranty rather than giving a new unit out.

Other info comes in that Apple are selling “polished up” display modes and selling these as new also.
