iPhone 4 is Free!!!

So that’s it the time we have all been waiting for, the iPhone 4 is Free! No not free of a price tag but free from being locked to a service provider.

Tonight @Planetbeing released pictures of his AT&T iPhone 4 running on the Canadian network Bell.

As we all know @Planetbeing and @MuscleNerd have been working hard on an unlock and that @Comex has a working Spirit JB port for ios4.

The picture shown above does not really show us much other that the Bell carrier name in the top left hand corner. But the picture I’m about to show you all is the big one a lot of us have been awaiting patiently for.

The picture here shows us Cydia running on the iPhone 4 and I have to say that it is looking really sharp on that Retina-Display.

We think we have 3 different ways to unlock once inside BB (the 3rd way was first to fully work for @planetbeing !)

This is a great find by the 2 guys from the Dev-Team, meaning that if Apple patches this exploit there is a possibility that the Dev-Team will have 2 more in standby.

Another Tweet from @MuscleNerd says:

probably we’ll get the 2nd way fully working on my iPhone4 then compare their stability,install speed,etc

Its great that the Dev-Team like to release the best product that they can (unlike some hackers that have now quit the game, mentioning no names), not only have they found an exploit they are willing to look at another way to unlock the iPhone 4 to give the best results.

This unlock is a total rebuild of ultrasn0w, as @Planetbeing told ModMyi today …

Apple has thrown in a few extra tricks targeted specifically at previous unlocks (including blacksn0w and ultrasn0w) in order to mitigate the damage we can do (i.e. unlocking the phone) even if we found a bug. But we got around it.

There is no release date for the unlock or JB, but it is still possible that they will come after the 4.0.1 release from Apple, however I personally would love to see one come out tonight, selfish I know.

Anyhow if we hear more about anything to do with either of the releases we will be sure to let you know.
